Norfolk to Beaufort

Sailing the Intracoastal Waterway from Norfolk to Beaufort offers a unique inland passage through rivers, sounds, and historic canals.

One of the most memorable sections is the Dismal Swamp Canal—a narrow, tree-lined waterway where the pace slows and the outside world fades. From there, the route opens into the wide expanses of the Albemarle Sound and Pamlico Sound, before continuing south toward the coast.

Protected yet ever-changing, this passage rewards patience and attention with quiet anchorages and a deeper connection to the journey itself.
