Samana

Samaná is known for its wild beauty and one of the most protected natural harbors in the Caribbean. After the open, wind-driven north coast, arriving here feels like slipping into calm again—green hills all around and space to breathe.

It’s also famous for humpback whales in season and some of the most lush, untouched landscapes in the DR.

    •    Samaná Bay — protected anchorage

    •    El Limón Waterfall — jungle hike to cascading falls

    •    Cayo Levantado — small island with clear water

🐋 Whale season (Jan–Mar) — unforgettable encounters

Samaná is where you finally relax again after the north coast. Good holding, room to anchor, and a slower rhythm—but still with enough life ashore to stay interesting. A place to pause, explore inland, and wait for the next move. Puerto Bahía is known as one of the most modern and comfortable marinas in the Dominican Republic—a place where cruising life meets a bit of luxury. After time at anchor, it almost feels like stepping into a different world.

Tucked inside Samaná Bay, it offers full protection, solid infrastructure, and a calm base to pause, reset, and enjoy being off the hook for a while.
