Beaufort to Savannah

Sailing the Intracoastal Waterway from Beaufort to Savannah follows a winding path through the heart of the southeastern coast—where land and water constantly reshape each other.

The route moves through tidal rivers, wide marshes, and shifting channels, with currents that can be as important as the wind. South of Cape Fear River, navigation becomes more dynamic, with shoaling areas and strong tides demanding attention and timing.

Further along, the scenery softens into endless grasslands and quiet creeks before arriving in the historic charm of Savannah.

Protected yet ever-changing, this stretch of the ICW is less about distance and more about rhythm—moving with the tide, reading the water, and embracing the slower pace of inland cruising.
